Texting Sponsorship

Money raised on this sponsorship drive goes 100% towards your band fees, both standing and for next season!

Raise $100s of dollars? This balance will stay in your student account for years to come, and all charges will be taken out against it.

You will text MANY family members, family friends, etc. to solicit small donations towards your account. Texting is easy, quick, and can yield a huge payoff for a small amount of effort.

Follow the procedure below for texting scripts, link, and tips.

Is This Worth It?

An adult in your life will always consider helping you. It is unlikely that anyone would turn you down when asked directly and pleasantly.

Experience says: most people will donate at least $10 dollars when given the option to chip in. Ten family members (cousins, uncles, grandparents) with $10 gives you a $100 dollar minimum for what is a few minutes of effort. This is about a third of your band fee.

How To

DO: Identify family members, particularly adult ones, to text or email. Ask around to get contact info for some. Make sure to introduce yourself if so.

DO: Copy-Paste a strong and thoughtful message that is changed every time with details (like the name of the person you are texting or what aspect of this sponsorship is likely to appeal to them). PLEASE remember to change the name on the top of the text.

DO NOT: Come across as overbearing, nor try to follow up if you get no response. 

DO NOT: Make your mom do this for you. It’s much harder to say no when your precious, cute selves ask.

DO: Most importantly, say thank you! Be heartfelt, say some sentences, and describe how this will impact you.

Hello, [NAME HERE]. I am in the Siloam Springs Marching Band! I am in the process of raising money for my yearly band fee, $350, which covers equipment and travel expenses for the season. [PERSONALITY HERE].

If you are able to, I’d appreciate any little help in paying off a small portion of the total cost. Even a few dollars can make a big difference!
