Fate of the Gods by Steven Reineke
The SSHS Symphonic Band performed this moving number to earn their prestigious awards at the Heritage Festival. It was truly a moving number to end the year with. Many changes and challenges were wrapped up in the performance of this piece which gave them a standing ovation at the final band concert. The parents gave it their "Tissue Award" for bringing tears to the eyes of the moms. One mom said, "It is so touching to see the students move to the music because they enjoy it. They have gone beyond practicing and have begun to experience the emotion for themselves." Congratulations to all.

We are getting very excited for the trip to Chicago! Just a reminder that the balance for the trip is due now.
Also, we are not going to wear our tuxes and dresses in Chicago for our performance. I have discussed a plan with the students, and we have decided to wear all black. The school can provide pants and shoes if needed. An ideal situation would be pants and collars for men...and the same or dresses (school appropriate) for ladies. When we see the Chicago Symphony...think church clothes.
Reminders: Our send off concert is on April 25th at 7:00pm. HS PAC
Chicago dates: leave Wednesday night (April 27th) and return Sunday morning (May 1st)
